the birds and the beasts were there…..
It was one hot and very dusty fair. We survived, but not without a lot of help. Which is how it’s supposed to be done if you ask any 4-H-er. The Crafter Monkey and I learned so much.
Most days it felt like the high 90’s and still friends showed up at the barn to help the CM out, friends who didn’t even have to be there. This group of dedicated friends earned the nick name ‘pit crew’.
Each one took such pride in making sure she and her pony Bows had everything they needed before they entered the show ring and escorted them to the shade afterwards to make sure they stayed cool and hydrated.
There is always a lot of primping before, but there’s always time for a quick photo between classes when you have an efficient pit crew like this group. The CM still has on her Walk-Trot Warrior paint from the costume class!
The pit crew had Bows unsaddled, re-saddled, de-feathered, and waiting for the CM by the time she changed out of her costume and ready to ride in less than fifteen minutes. (With only a little adult help) They Rocked!
