This is a first for me… a yarn club. Go figure. I’m sure this isn’t a surprise to many of my friends and just a logical extension of my obsession with great yarns. I have been reading Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark‘s blog at Kitchen Sink Dyeworks for more than a year and love her color ways and her designs. When she announced her intention to start the yarn club I knew I was in.
first = awesome yarn
second = great colors
third = free pattern for the yarn ( & NOT a sock pattern) I like socks, they do a great job of keeping my piggies warm, I just don’t knit ’em.
fourth = right price
fifth = some of the proceeds help others.
The first installment of the yarn club arrived on Saturday after a long day at work. What a great reward. I had some assistance from the Wee Monkey opening up my treasure.
First the swag envelope was opened, the candy was the first to disappear (WM) and it was determined that the ring did not fit me well so it was promptly adopted by WM.
Wee Monkey was a bit disappointed about the contents of the big package, but I was NOT! Beautiful squishy yarn! WM quickly showed me that it perfectly matched the balls she was playing with though and it could come in handy to build a web or soccer goal. I squashed that idea right away. Now I need some time to read the pattern and cast on!
