I couldn’t wait to visit the new yarn shop in the area. Mom and I travelled to Warsaw, NY this weekend to scope out Dancing Goat Yarn Shop. We were greeted by the friendly owner Mara Rooney and smooshy display of Katia yarns. The shop has been open for less than a month and Maya has been adding stock steadily. Mom and I even got a sneak preview of some sock and lace weight arriving in a few weeks. The lace was a baby alpaca blend, so buttery soft.
There was a huge selection of Noro and many lines from Ella Rae. I really liked the Ella Rae Latte, so soft that will halo nicely with washing and wear. I prefer wood & bamboo needles and they had the size 7 DPNs I needed for my Olearia project. There was a great selection of pattern books crochet hooks too.
The shop was roomy and painted a beautiful hue of blue that really made the fiber selection pop. In the center of the shop is the work table which displayed a selection of swatches of the yarns in house. So after touching nearly every yarn in the shop, Mom and I had decided on our purchases. She want to the the new Flounce from Knitting Fever and I was happy with my selection of the Ella Rae Classic and my DPNs.
