I realized I had not posted any final products of our koolaid yarn dyeing. We were so thrilled with the finished hanks & we had so much fun toting them around for show and tell.
I have been stumped. What shall I knit? Most of the hanks are too small to knit up any large projects, maybe a hat or mittens? My largest hank has been chosen for the GarterYoke Cardigan. I really like this pattern. It’s moving along quickly, here’s the Ravelry link.
The colors are unique, kinda a raspberry/blackberry combination, depending on the light of course. I wanted to use it for the garter stitch part of the pattern and dye up another skein without the color variations. I was concerned with color pooling, but I have not experienced any at all. Not to shabby for a first time dyer.
This is our favorite skein, the Eldest Monkey gave it a perfect name: Sea Shell.
There are lots of possibilities with the yarn we’ve dyed. It has centered around the warm palette, and we’ve agreed we want to try more dyeing but with more blues and greens. I found a multi-pack of drink mixes at Aldi’s today. We will see what that beholds.
